Content policy

theprototype community — what may be published, what may not, and what happens when something is reported.

The short version: publish what you made or have the right to share, keep it fine for a general audience, and don't spam. The community is for scenes people can open, play and remix in the app; everything below follows from that.

Not allowed

The report reasons on every scene page are the headings here. If a scene fits one, report it.

Spam. Bulk or duplicate uploads, misleading titles or tags, scenes that exist to advertise or to link somewhere else, keyword stuffing, re-uploading something that was removed.

Not safe for work. Sexual content and nudity, gore, graphic violence, anything you would not open in front of a classroom. The community and its contests are open to everyone.

Stolen assets. Models, textures, audio or whole scenes you do not have the right to share under the license you chose: assets ripped from games or stores, other people's published scenes re-uploaded as your own, remixes that drop the credit the parent's license requires, a shared session published against the wishes of the people you built it with.

Illegal content. Anything unlawful in Latvia or the European Union — child sexual abuse material, terrorist content, incitement to violence or hatred, threats, harassment, other people's personal data, malware. This is removed immediately and may be reported to the authorities where the law requires.

Other. Impersonating another person or project, using titles, summaries or comments to harass someone, and anything else that makes the community worse for the people in it. When in doubt, report it and say why in the note.

Comments

Comments follow the same rules and are one level deep: a comment, and replies to it. Be the person you would want replying to your own scene. Comments can be hidden by us; you can delete your own.

Licenses

Every published scene carries one of three licenses, shown on its card and page. CC-BY-4.0 (the default): anyone may use and remix it with credit to you. CC0-1.0: public domain, no credit required. MIT: use and remix freely, keep the license notice. A remix must respect the license of the scene it came from. What publishing grants, and that it cannot be taken back, is in the Terms.

Reporting

Use Report on a scene page (you need to be signed in), pick a reason and add a note. One report per person per scene. When three different people report a scene it is hidden automatically, pending review; the owner sees it as hidden with this address to write to. Reports are read regularly, usually within a week: the scene is either restored or removed, and the owner is told why. People who keep publishing content that breaks this policy lose the ability to publish.
